After the debates last night, I figured we could all use a movie in which evil is actually vanquished. This week’s Questionable Taste Theatre is the fucking Flight of Dragons.

Disclaimer: I watched this movie when I was five years old. It lodged in my heart like a huge dragon-shaped arrow, and has never come out. Just saying.

So, in preparing for this post I made a YouTube pass for an illustrative clip. There were several, to my delight. I tried to pick just one clip, but every time I looked at one I reverted to being five years old and fell in love all over again, so you get them all in a big guided tour.

Nutshell: Carolinus, one of the four wizard brothers who rule the realm of magic, must go to the modern world (the realm of science) and bring back a hero to prevent his evil brother Ommadon from taking over both worlds. He ends up bringing back a scientist, to everyone’s bafflement, and then there’s a quest and a wolf that talks and a woman archer and some dragons and it’s just the shit, you guys, okay? It’s the shit.
