Eleventh Hour: “Pilot” Recap
So, when I was twelve, I wrote an X-Files script on my dad’s computer in ProWrite. I printed it out on our dot-matrix printer. I carefully tore off all the edges of the printer paper (I probably painstakingly folded them into enormous worms, but you know, not the point), I packaged it up, and I sent it off to Chris Carter.
The fact that the “Eleventh Hour” pilot reminds me of something I wrote when I was twelve is a pretty good indicator of the quality and scientific verisimilitude of the show.
“Any time your show opens with someone in a pickup truck muttering “Mea maxima culpa,” you’re in for a good time, you know?”
